Commonwealth War Graves Commission

The CWGC honours and cares for the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, ensuring they will never be forgotten. Funded by six Member Governments, their work began with building, and now maintaining, cemeteries at 23,000 locations all over the world.

Designated as the National Cemetery of Canada and the home of the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces, Beechwood is made up of almost 400 famous burials, and over 82,000 total burials of people from all walks of life.
